Adecco is partnering with a renowned transportation and railway company where we are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to join the team, supporting the design, review, and engineering of critical infrastructure projects in the railway, road tunnel, and bus sectors.The role involves conducting technical studies, investigations, and technology research, while providing design and engineering support for a range of systems including air-conditioning, mechanical ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, tunnel ventilation, and more. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design, review, and evaluate submissions for various infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and best practices.The Job:
  • Design and Review: Design and review engineering solutions for mechanical and electrical systems for railway, road tunnel, and bus infrastructure projects, including air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, sanitary services, tunnel ventilation, lifts, escalators, high-voltage power systems, and traction power systems.
  • Standards and Specifications: Maintain and update engineering standards, design criteria, performance specifications, and technical requirements for all systems.
  • Tender Preparation and Evaluation: Prepare and evaluate tenders for projects, reviewing design submissions from consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with technical requirements and project specifications.
  • Site Supervision and Commissioning: Oversee site supervision, testing, and commissioning of engineering systems to ensure that the works meet the specified standards and performance criteria.
  • Stakeholder Support: Provide technical and engineering support for Division-led projects, participating in the development of project concepts, studies, and evaluations.
  • Technology and Innovation: Research and evaluate new technologies for road and rail infrastructure systems, applications, and building services to drive innovation and ensure the highest standards in design and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with client requirements.
The Talent:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in designing and supervising mechanical and electrical systems, including high-voltage and low-voltage reticulation schemes, air-conditioning, ventilation, and fire protection systems.
  • Solid understanding of engineering standards, design criteria, and performance specifications, particularly within the context of complex infrastructure systems.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts in both written and spoken English, with strong presentation skills for reporting and presenting to stakeholders.
  • Team Player: A collaborative and resourceful individual who can work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Analytical and Result-Oriented: Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to analyze complex issues to deliver optimal design solutions.
