The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball rules, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to manage fast-paced games fairly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Officiate basketball games in accordance with FIBA rules and league regulations.
  • Ensure a fair, safe, and professional playing environment for all participants.
  • Make accurate and impartial calls on fouls, violations, and other game situations.
  • Work collaboratively with coaches, players, and fellow referees to maintain the integrity of the game.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and communicate decisions effectively.
  • Keep up to date with rule changes and attend referee training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Certified Basketball Referee (e.g., FIBA certification or Singapore Basketball Association Referee accreditation preferred).
  • Prior refereeing experience in competitive or recreational leagues is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of basketball rules and game mechanics.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Physically fit and able to keep up with the pace of the game.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience officiating in school tournaments, community leagues, or professional competitions.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain composure under scrutiny.
  • Passion for basketball and sports development in Singapore.
