The successful candidate will be dynamic, independent, highly motivated and keen to learn. He/she should be able to interact well with team members and stakeholders. In addition, he/she should be able to multi-task effectively.We are part of the growing finance team with strong binding working relationship with other offices. You would feel a positive momentum with other team members in other offices.Contributes to the accounting activities of assigned accounting process(es) and/or T. Rowe Price Group subsidiary that are large in size and complexity. Manages accounting and reporting processes from start to close and other complex ad hoc assignments, as needed. Responsible for researching, applying specialized expertise, and maintaining deep knowledge/expertise of accounting guidance and policies, regulations, and drivers that impact assigned areas. Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work. Contributes to the achievement of objectives for assigned accounting and reporting processes for the international subsidiaries in APAC and EMEA. Recognized throughout the function as the reporting point of contact and subject matter expert for APAC subsidiaries. Represents other functional areas of Controllers Group (accounting service center, general accounting teams, global tax) in APAC and EMEA.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports end-to-end accounting processes and completes highly complex research required to transform data into information for reporting purposes.
  • Completes highly complex accounting and reporting activities, including processing numerous complex general ledger events and transactions
  • Prepare monthly legal entity variance (BS and PL) analysis which provides meaningful analysis of different aspects of legal entity financials.
  • Prepares and submit the monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory returns and other surveys to the respective regulators and government agencies
  • Prepares the annual financial statements and liaise with auditors on statutory and regulatory annual audits
  • Prepares the board papers and other internal reporting to management/ boards
  • Liaise with tax agents and group tax on any tax filings matters (GST, Corporate tax, withholding taxes etc)
  • Work with group tax teams in the implementation of interco transfer pricing policy
  • Coordinate with external accounting outsourcing providers in month end closing process and review the local GAAP financials
  • Perform month end closing procedures, including preparing and posting of accounting journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare cashflow/ regulatory capital projections on a regular basis for monitoring of the legal entities’ liquidity and capital position
  • Assist in the technical application of multiple GAAPs for the preparation of complex accounting entries and preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional, and country-specific accounting, reporting, and process standards
  • Continuously improving exceptions identification and analysis activities
  • Identifying and completing process improvements
  • Maintaining the control environment
  • Completes special project activities (eg new business initiatives/ legal entities set up/ finance improvement / system enhancement initiatives)
  • Understand forward looking business change impacts on entity financial position(s) and the effect on entity regulatory financial requirements
  • Participating in core monthly and quarterly Controllership accounting and reporting responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyse monthly General Ledger account reconciliations for VAT in partnership with the tax team
PREFERRED (OR ESSENTIAL) QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in accounting, business, or economics from an accredited institution
  • CA, CPA or ACCA qualifications (or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial control and/or management reporting, audit
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, most particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with high affinity with numbers
  • Relevant industry experience in asset management / financial institution
  • Proficiency in Chinese preferred
  • Prior audit experience would be an advantage
  • Experience in the use of a corporate accounting system (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with teams across different countries and other business functions
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables concurrently
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Can successfully operate and lead in a matrixed and cross-border / virtual work environment
  • Can reach and manage beyond immediate team to apply and share diverse resources and expertise
