
Senior Engineer - Cyber Security Consultancy
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Engineer or Senior Engineer in Cyber Security to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in cyber security governance, design, and architecture.
You will be at the forefront of protecting our organization's infrastructure, ensuring that security best practices are implemented and maintained throughout all stages of project delivery. You will also engage with internal teams, customers, vendors, and partners to communicate security risks, solutions, and recommendations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stay informed on the latest cyber threats and security trends, continuously improving knowledge on tools, techniques, and best practices in Cyber Security Protection.
- Communicate effectively across internal teams, customers, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment and clarity on security goals.
- Develop and write technical proposals, clearly presenting security solutions and their benefits.
- Lead and manage security projects, coordinating with project teams to deliver milestones and ensure project success.
- Review security architectures and designs, ensuring adherence to security best practices, baselines, and standards.
- Conduct security assessments, tests, and audits to identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Articulate cybersecurity risks and propose mitigation strategies to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Evaluate security products and conduct Proof of Concept (POC) to verify the effectiveness of security measures before implementation.
- Provide expert guidance and consultancy to stakeholders on remediating security risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure security practices align with security baselines and industry standards throughout the lifecycle of systems and projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Cyber Security or a related field, or a recognized Cyber Security professional qualification (e.g., CISSP or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the cyber security domain, with relevant expertise in security governance, design, and architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise security solutions, including Endpoint Security, Identity & Access Control, Network Security, Data Loss Prevention, and Vulnerability and Compliance management.
- Familiarity with the typical project lifecycle, including milestones, deliverables, and execution within IT and engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of network and server infrastructure, with the ability to assess and improve system security.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale, multi-platform, multi-vendor systems.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies for monitoring, analytics, and threat detection.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage security projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
