Our client is a global MNC. The co allows for a WFH arrangement up to 2 times a week (after the employee completes the probation period).

Summary: As an Assistant Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing group of companies accounting functions. This role focuses more on Group Accounting and the candidate is required to do full sets of accounts and consolidation. This role would also cover statutory compliance (Audit, Tax, etc.) and reporting to upper management. In addition, you handle ad hoc projects involving business expansion and accounting system enhancement.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drives the preparation of group financial statements as well as entity financial statements of the companies within the group in accordance with IFRS and SFRS.
  • Liaises with the auditors on audit issues and their resolutions.
  • Prepares GST reports, income tax schedules and review income tax computation prepared by tax agents.
  • Compiles and submits periodic management reports.
  • Prepares annual budget/quarterly forecast.
  • Manage full set of accounts including bookkeeping.
  • Oversees certain companies’ manpower and administrative expenses.
  • Oversees the Group’s agency business.
  • Provides assistance to the Accounting Manager when needed.
  • Any other ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or similar specialization from a recognized University.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in both audit and commercial accounting.
  • Have experience in managing full sets of accounts.
  • Relevant experience doing group accounting and consolidation is beneficial
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience in the Maritime/Shipping industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and apply them effectively.
