Senior Manager, Human Resources
How will I help?
As the Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will be responsible to lead the Singapore and China HR Team on delivering the HR strategy.
You will provide strategic expertise to senior leaders predominantly around people initiatives such as employee engagement, culture and identification of a talent, remuneration and retention strategy, employment policies, employee relations, learning and development as well as diversity and inclusion.
You will also work in partnership with and as part of the International HR team, where you will be expected to lean in and support across jurisdictions, leveraging expertise and new ways of working.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide proactive HR support and counsel to the Singapore branch on local policy advice as well as ensuring a regular review and maintenance of employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Work closely with the business to support talent attraction and selection, including a clearly articulated and realistic value proposition.
- Manage and oversee HR Reporting and operations, including review and approval of local payroll, annual taxation reporting, timely completion of government and regulatory information requests.
- Manage and oversee employee relations matters, processes, investigations, and organisational change in partnership with the Australian Stakeholders (where required).
- Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives and role model Westpac’s purpose, values, and behaviours.
- Provide guidance to business leaders on Westpac’s performance management approach (Motivate).
- Support and advise on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and maintain continual focus on the Group’s DEI priorities.
- Work closely with Global Mobility CoE to support assignments to and from Singapore including immigration and tax considerations for new andcurrent assignees/sponsored employees.
- Provide proactive risk management initiatives ensuring adequate regulatory and risk controls are in place for the HR team.
- Oversee the co-ordination of the Annual Individual Accountability and Conduct annual attestation process.
- In partnership with CoE, support the annual remuneration review process and provide advice to business leaders on remuneration decisions.
- Review and implement process improvements to create efficiencies and improve service.
- Development and coaching of HR Operations, business partnering and talent acquisition team members.

What do I need?
This role suits somebody who possess:
- Financial Services knowledge and background – a good understanding of the regulatory environments, staying abreast of any changes and the implications for HR and the business.
- Relevant experience in HR leadership roles including HR Operations.
- Degree and CIPD qualified (or equivalent) with relevant HR advisory experience.
- Proven ability in achieving business and talent outcomes through leadership and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated agility in thinking and acting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience in project and change management.
- Understanding and applying decision making and judgement.
- Business and commercial acumen.
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management.
- Experience working in an Australian Financial Services Firm/Bank is preferred.
