
Global Sourcing Manager,Mechanical
The Global Sourcing Manager, Mechanical will be part of the Mechanical Category team responsible for the development and supplier management on the assigned mechanical portfolio & supply base to deliver long term competitive advantage in Quality, Cost & Delivery, international trade/transport compliance, and adherence to our Supplier Code of Conduct. This role is responsible for active participation in the development of cost reduction and supply base consolidation strategies that support the needs of the business units as well as those of the supply chain organization. This position is based in Singapore and reports to the Senior Manager of Procurement and Category Management.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement Sourcing Strategy that optimizes the total value chain by demonstrating a deep understanding of the overall business strategy and especially its relationship with suppliers
- Select and Evaluate suppliers using supplier performance management and leveraging cross-functional resources to ensure a stable and optimized supply network
- Integrate and collaborate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the supply network remains focused on service, supply, quality, and cost.
- Analyze new product requirements with Engineering/R&D and Product Management and identify the ‘best’ component option consistent with technical and reliability requirements, sourcing strategy, cost, quality, delivery and schedule
- Review proposals, select or recommend suppliers in alignment with category strategies and component requirements, negotiates unit prices & related component costs, kick-off and manage required tools / setup, support components ordering & deliveries, manage supply chain readiness and problem solve as required to ensure NPD projects are on-time, meeting MP schedule, cost, demand & quality.
- Perform category spend analysis and review category strategy yearly (minimum).
- Perform category price negotiation on a yearly or bi-yearly basis as appropriate.
- Maintain category unit prices via monthly CPL (Component Price List – MP & NPD).
- Continually identify and implement new opportunities for cost saving and cost avoidance and proactively track progress toward these objectives via monthly update in Productivity Tracker.
- Review category demand / trend and perform supply base rationalization as required.
- Work with Legal to establish and execute optimal contract terms and conditions with suppliers
- Ensure continuity of supply by conducting due diligence of potential suppliers to expose financial risk, Responsible Sourcing compliance, quality and on-time delivery service and End-of-Life issues.
- For KDP custom components, monitor component / supplier capacity vs demand. Track tool life and activate repeat tooling (as required) in time to meet demand.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers to create a partnership culture
- Ensure company-wide use of best practices through the integration of technology and information systems affecting value, reliability, quality and cost of procurement services
- Review, monitor, and update procurement and supply chain performance metrics around applicable areas: cost reduction, inventory management, quality, customer feedback and supplier evaluation to meet the changing needs of Keurig
- Ensure excellence in execution, high efficiency, and best practices across the organization
- Actively contribute to identify best solutions and opportunities and foster transparent communication across internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that all purchasing activities within the group comply with company strategy and appropriate ethical and legal standards
What you must have:
- BA, BS in a relevant discipline (Engineering preferred), MBA or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progression in procurement responsibilities
- Procurement experience in plastic injection molding, post consumer resin / resins, mechanical components / tools preferred.
- Leadership skills. Ability to lead and drive issue resolution.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Project Management experience as Project Leader and cross-functional team participant
- Demonstrated skill to persuade / influence directly and indirectly - both internally and externally to the function
- Financial acumen and rapid diagnostic commercial skills
- Advanced negotiation skills
- High interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced communication and facilitation skills
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system (preferred only)
- Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
