Job Title: Network Engineer
Position Overview:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, support, and maintenance of the enterprise-wide network system infrastructure. This includes managing interconnected technologies that require day-to-day support and administration to ensure optimal network performance and maximum system availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi networks to ensure optimal performance and maximum availability.
- Ensure network devices (routers, switches, load balancers, wireless LAN controllers) and firewalls remain in good working condition.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within network and security areas, including performance and capacity-related problems.
- Respond promptly to production issues, including addressing defective hardware during and after office hours.
- Lead the updating and documentation of all network configurations, firmware, network diagrams, and cabling for all end-devices.
- Provide technical support and consultation, manage procurement activities, and oversee project management tasks related to network and security enhancements and configuration changes.
- Develop and define processes to manage the network infrastructure, driving service improvement initiatives to enhance overall network operation quality and productivity.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage and coordinate infrastructure security reviews, assessments, and penetration tests.
- Work closely with the cybersecurity team to remediate network-related vulnerabilities.
- Manage network-related projects as needed.
- Perform any other related duties or tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Director of Information Technology.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in network administration.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred.
- Security certifications are advantageous.
- Proficient in network configuration and setup, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN Tunnels (GRE & IPSec), VRF, HSRP/VRRP, QoS, IP Flow Top Talkers, IP Accounting, ARP, NAT, PAT, Port Channel, VXLAN, and Policy Routing.
- Familiarity with security appliances such as Cisco FirePower and/or Palo Alto.
- Experience with NMS setup and configuration tools like Forescout NetFlow, MRTG/PRTG, and SolarWinds.
- Experience with F5 Networks and/or A10 Load Balancer devices.
- Familiarity with security remediation audits and RFP/RFQ tender requirements.
