
Laboratory Manager (Construction Materials Testing) #JTL
• Manage and supervise a team of technical staff for both field and laboratory sampling and testing of construction materials, namely concrete, aggregates, soils, asphalt, steel and other materials as required.
• Manage the daily operations and efficiency of the laboratory in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
• Provide technical advice and training to coworkers and customers on the interpretation of test results.
• Understand the requirements of international testing standards and verification of test results before issuance.
• Ensure adherence to the company Quality System and laboratory management system requirements.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Liaise with clients with regards to technical and logistical enquiries.
• Integrate corporate functions such as administration, procurement, logistics, IT, and other company units into overall laboratory management.
• Identify potential new areas of growth and opportunity for the laboratory.
• Take the lead in laboratory business performance, financial review and report to senior management.
• Conduct regular formal and informal technical presentations to relevant stakeholders. Requirements
Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role ideally with laboratory operations management and supervison of materials testing operations.
• Good technical knowledge, well versed in ISO 17025 documentation and technical documents such as BS, EN, ASTM, etc.
