KEY ROLES:

Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division’s basic instructional philosophy, provides individualised and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students from Year 1 to Year 5 (Primary), Year 6 to Year 8 (Lower Secondary), and Grade 9 & 10 (IGCSE).

Evaluates each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge and contribution in team sports.

Works with other PE Teacher/ HOS/School Coordinators in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program

Communicates with parents and class teachers on student PE performance.

Analyses, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.

Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the assigned working day.

Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.

Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, and other record keeping activities as necessary.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behaviour to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.

Has an equitable knowledge content and deliver of the following PE classes:

1) Basketball

2) Badminton

3) Table Tennis

4) Soccer

5) Chess

6) Carrom

Minor tasks involvement:

Performs any other related duties as assigned by the HOS or other appropriate coordinators.

Participates in various student and parent activities, Open Houses, Reception Days, Admission period more of after-school activities.

Maintains professional competence by attending staff meetings, development programs, adhoc meetings, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.

Spearheads Annual Sports Day one of the major school events of KKIS.
