Role Purpose

The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives to drive sales growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction.   • Product Development & Private Labels: Oversee category development, including private label and house brand products, ensuring alignment with market demands and business goals.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Foster strong retailer-supplier relationships, negotiating better terms, discounts, and promotions to maximize category profitability.
  • Competitive Pricing & Market Analysis: Implement pricing strategies that provide value to customers while maintaining a competitive edge in the market. Continuously review industry trends to refine merchandising strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular category analysis and evaluate promotion effectiveness to optimize future campaigns and maximize category profitability.

About You:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in category management, ideally within retail or FMCG.
  • Strong expertise in merchandising, marketing, and business development in a customer-centric environment.
  • Well-versed in market trends, competitive analysis, and industry insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business partners and suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and optimize performance.
  • Creative, energetic, and adaptable with a problem-solving approach in a fast-paced environment.
