ABOUT S&TPPO
Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) are pivotal in modernising public service delivery, as well as driving innovation and efficiency in the public sector. By integrating STE, cutting-edge solutions, and strategies to address complex societal challenges, we can significantly improve the quality of life for our citizens.
This role is with the People and Capability Development team in the Public Sector Science and Technology Policy and Plans Office (S&TPPO). The team develops and implements HR strategies and levers to strengthen capability development and the career value proposition for public service STE professionals.
ROLE
The Temporary Officer will support the Workforce Development (People and Capability Development) team in executing workforce development initiatives/projects and coordinating key events. This role requires independent execution capabilities, stakeholder management, and strong analytical and communication skills, making it suitable for individuals seeking hands-on experience in public sector workforce development.
JOB RESPONSIBLILITIES
1. Workforce Development & Competency Frameworks
· Manage competency data translation and digitisation from agencies’ submissions.
· Compile the STE competencies into master database.
· Support in agency engagements (i.e. jobs tagging for endorsed competencies) for the implementation of the STE competency framework, guided by the Workforce Development team.
2. Innovation Challenge & Excellence Awards
· Create dashboards and key word search friendly databases for the STE Innovation Challenge and Excellence Awards repository.
· Develop communication materials to support award nominations and promotion.
· Conduct research on best practices for awards and innovation initiatives.
3. Programme & Event Management
· Help organise workforce development programmes such as the STE Innovation Challenge, Excellence Awards, HR Leaders Roundtable, and Community of Practice sessions.
· Manage logistics and coordination efforts for events and initiatives.
4. Digital Migration
· Facilitate the migration of workforce development files and folders to a new SharePoint site.
5. General Support & Administration
· Provide administrative and operational support for workforce development initiatives.
· Assist in departmental projects as assigned.
PREFERRED SKILLS
· Background in Business, Communications, Human Resources, IT, or related fields.
· Experience in event organisation and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with Canva, Adobe, and other design tools.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
· A team player with a resourceful and proactive approach.
· Independent learner who is self-motivated and adaptable.
