Job Description
Electrical Instrument Engineers are responsible for designing, configuring, and overseeing automated systems and power distribution projects, focusing on enhancing productivity, reliability, safety, and optimization in industrial facilities, from warehouses to complex EPC contracts, while managing contractors and ensuring system stability.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a knowledge resource for instrumentation, control systems, and process automation.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including P&IDs, Instrument Index, and I/O Lists, across all project phases.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, and requisition packages for inquiry and purchase, ensuring compliance with client standards and project requirements.
- Provide technical direction for material selection, vendor compliance, and equipment specifications; perform technical bid evaluations and make purchase recommendations.
- Coordinate with process engineers, mechanical equipment vendors, and external workshare offices to ensure compliance with project requirements and schedules.
- Plan, design, and oversee the construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Prepare technical and construction scope of work documents for instrumentation, control systems, and electrical systems.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and vendor data reviews to ensure specifications and operational standards are met.
- Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform tasks and develop deliverables.
- Develop TIC cost estimates, effort-hour estimates, and budgets for labor, materials, and construction costs.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring timely completion within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Investigate customer complaints and recommend corrective measures; conduct field surveys to identify and resolve system issues.
- Supervise and train project team members as necessary.
- Prepare technical reports, system studies, and budgets for new projects, capital programs, and major repairs
Requirements & Professional Skills
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Able to read and understand circuit diagrams as well as to detect discrepancies for combined services
- Well-versed in all local and international codes and standards on the related field
- Good knowledge in building M&E services, with project site experience in fire protection and electrical systems for M&E specifications, installation and maintenance.
- Positive attitudes/Drive for result.
- Mature personality and able to work independently.
- Good interpersonal, management and decision-making skills.
