HR Generalist

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, overtime calculations, allowances, deductions, salary recovery, leave benefits, and employee claims.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions, including CPF and IR8A filings.
  • Prepare and submit income tax clearance (IR21) for work pass holders.
  • Generate payroll reports, manage brand billing, and support audits with necessary payroll documentation.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare government survey submissions related to payroll and compensation.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns within the retail front-end workforce.
  • Address and resolve employee issues and conflicts in a timely and fair manner.
  • Conduct regular store visits to engage employees, address concerns, and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Organize and facilitate employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace morale and culture.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to HR policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices.

Recruitment:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job postings and candidate sourcing to screening, interviews, and job offers.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies and job boards.
  • Evaluate candidates for suitability and conduct reference checks.

Compensation & Benefits Administration:

  • Prepare salary proposals for newly hired employees.
  • Ensure compliance with union guidelines and collective agreements (CA) related to employee relations.
  • Administer employee medical benefits, including registrations, claims processing, and coordination with medical providers.
  • Oversee HR administrative tasks, including drafting employee letters and maintaining up-to-date records in the HR system.

Additional HR Administrative Duties:

  • Manage work pass applications, renewals, and terminations, including repatriation administration.
  • Support HR initiatives and participate in projects as assigned.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Diploma in HR Management or Business Administration.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and HR best practices.
