Manager, Data Analytics
The incumbent will be part of the Strategy, Planning and Customer Experience (SPCE) team with the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP).
Responsibilities
• Plan, manage and implement data processing, cleansing, compilation and reporting of statistics from multiple sources. Some of the activities include:
- Extracting data from various sources, like internal systems, databases, etc., using data querying tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Supporting data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparing regular reports to update management on corporate performance.
- Designing and developing dashboards for more streamlined corporate performance reporting for management meetings.
- Supporting the preparation of data to be reported in the annual corporate report.
• Analyse key corporate statistics to enable effective monitoring and identification of key issues, including early detection of emerging issues, and derive new insights and trends.
• Work on software enhancement and functional testing related to reporting statistics in multiple environments, e.g. setting up and enhancing data tables, reports, dashboards, etc.
• Support efforts in promoting data governance and ensuring compliance with internal data policy.
• Assist in the creation and update of data documentation.
Job Requirements
Educational Background:
- Tertiary Education in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience:
- Proven experience in data processing, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with statistical analysis, data visualization and dashboarding.
- Optional - familiarity with data management platform (e.g., Denodo).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel – including Pivot tables, SQL, Python, R).
- Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with system enhancement and data integration.
- Familiarity with database management and data warehousing concepts.
- Optional – familiarity with using GenAI tools to manage and derive insights from data.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Experience in identifying trends and emerging issues through data analysis.
Other skills:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data processing and reporting.
- Ability to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Deliver tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
