The intern will assist and support the Legal TMs of the Legal Department in the management of legal matters and provision of legal advice.
Job Responsibilities
- Intern will be attached to members of the Legal Department MBS to observe how meetings are conducted with users and other stakeholders;
- Interns will assist Legal TMs with research on Singapore and potentially foreign laws. This will include case law, statutes and regulations, parliamentary debates, academic articles and other relevant materials;
- Interns may assist Legal Department with due diligence exercises; preparation of training materials and slide presentations on various topics eg dawn raid procedures; competition law issues; privilege issues; sales and procurement trainings on commercial contract issues;
- Interns may assist with review of contracts; redrafting of documents; preparation of arguments and other submissions;
- Interns may be requested to assist with Information Governance;
- Interns may be requested to assist a Legal TM to conduct investigations; prepare and record statements; file cases for good record keeping;
- Interns may be requested to assist a Legal TM on a project – projects may comprise the preparation of processes; roll out exercises; communication campaigns and related trainings;
- Interns will assist Legal TMs to brainstorm solutions to complex legal problems.
Education & Certification
- Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree, preferably in Law, Law with management or related field.
- E.g. No experience required as training will be provided
- Good interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn
- Good communication and writing skills
- Flexibility and willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ to get the job done
