Job Description
- Lead and mentor a team of industrial designers, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality product designs that meet cost targets and project timelines.
- Develop and implement design strategies that strengthen the company's product portfolio and market positioning.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the exploration of new materials, technologies, and design trends.
- Ensure all design processes and deliverables adhere to company guidelines and best practices.
- Manage the workflow from ideation to production, maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with sales, product management, merchandising, and engineering teams to align designs with market needs, cost efficiency, and technical feasibility.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Contribute to material selection and manufacturing process decisions.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of industrial design experience with a proven track record of leading successful product design projects.
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and usability engineering.
- Experience designing with plastic, metal, wood, and glass, including relevant manufacturing techniques (injection molding, stamping, CNC, etc.).
