Position Overview:

As an Associate Engineer – Vehicle Integration, you will play a key role in the design and integration of components for motorcycles andscooters.This role focuses on ensuring seamless compatibility between mechanical systems, optimizing vehicle performance, and supporting product development from concept to production. You will work closely with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to enhance the integration of mechanical components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Integration & Mechanical Design

  • Assist in the integration of mechanical components, ensuring compatibility and functionality within the vehicle architecture.
  • Support the design and development of chassis, powertrain, electrical and bodywork systems in alignment with performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and assembly efficiency.

2. Product Development & Prototyping

  • Participate in the design, validation, and testing of vehicle components and subsystems.
  • Assist in benchmarking competitor vehicles, analyzing their mechanical design, and contributing to design improvements.
  • Support the creation and review of technical drawings, CAD models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for integration projects.

3. Testing & Validation Support

  • Assist in vehicle testing, performance validation, and issue resolution during prototype and pre-production phases.
  • Work with quality teams to assess durability, structural integrity, and thermal performance of integrated systems.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed engineering documentation, including integration reports, change logs, and test results.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, regulatory requirements, and TVS Motor’s internal guidelines.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth vehicle integration.
  • Support supplier discussions related to mechanical components, fitment tolerances, and design modifications.

Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a local university.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on full vehicle integration, assembly, or structural design.
  • Experience in motorcycle, automotive, or related engineering industries is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. CATIA, Creo) for 3D modeling and component design.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, structural analysis, and material selection for vehicle components.
  • Basic knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and vehicle dynamics is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for automotive product development.
