Job Description & Requirements

  • Board Merchant Ships at sea, anchor or berth and able to conduct oneself in a safe manner.
  • Gauge cargo oil tanks, bunker oil tanks, on/off hire surveys for Vessel’s condition and bunkers.
  • Conduct Bunker Quantity Surveys as per SS600/TR 48 Standards as laid down by the MPA Authorities.
  • Container surveys for stuffing, de-stuffing, damaged cargo, trans-loading and general condition.
  • Inspection of damaged cargo from containers that include and not limited to, house hold goods, perishables, oil and products, chemicals, machinery, raw materials, commodities, steel & products, grain, food products, art & specie etc
  • Pre-loading/discharge surveys of various bulk cargoes such as steel products, pipes, commodities, packaged goods etc on board general cargo Vessels and at warehouses. Check load, stow and count of the cargo.
  • Prepares reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied.

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Marine Engineering with a Class 3 or 4 Motor, Certificate of Competency or Diploma in Nautical Studies with a Class 2 Certificate of Competency as a Deck Officer or Combined Certificate of Competency for Deck and Engine, Class III.
  • Sailed on board Merchant Vessels for at least one year in the capacity of 3rd or 4th Engineer OR 2nd or 3rd Officer or Dual Officer OR holder of Diploma in Nautical/Maritime Transportation/Marine Engineering studies or equivalent and at least 6 months of relevant working experience.
  • Able to travel at short notice and work flexible schedules.

Remuneration will be reviewed after completion of training.
