Job Description:

  • Support the Deputy Contracts Director/ Contracts Manager and/or QS Manager in overseeing and guiding a team of project QSs
  • Assist in preparing cost budget, prepare cash-flow for project, track changes in design/construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
  • Assist in extension of time and costs claims
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure timely award of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Communicate with technical team to ensure that quotations are complied with specifications and to the method of construction
  • Produce quantity measurement within targeted timeline
  • Prepare and call quotations, including analyzing and evaluating for costing of tender; or negotiate and award of subcontracts for project
  • Review and prepare agreements for award to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Certify and evaluate progress work done, includes contract administration for variations for both subcontract and main contract works.
  • Assess and submit monthly progress claim, and recommend subcontractor’s monthly progress payment
  • Finalise subcontract and main contract’s final account.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, project cost management, and contract administration,including leading a team of QS with A1 Building Contractors
  • Experience in contract management and dispute resolution of HDB projects is a plus
  • Degree /Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Facilities Management or a related field
  • Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently and good mentor to the QS team. Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-versed in both public and private Conditions of Contract used in Singapore
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach to work
  • Proficient in MS Excel and the ability to learn new specialist software
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, SISV) is preferred
