We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Crewing Manager for one of our global shipping clients. The incumbent will be responsible for recruiting and selecting qualified seafarers to ensure fleet readiness and compliance with international regulations. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of relevant crewing experience with ship manager/ owner and has excellent knowledge of the STCW certifications, Seafarers Employment, and the relevant maritime legislation and regulation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for seafarers.
  • Oversee sourcing, interviewing, and selection processes.
  • Maintain relationships with manning agencies and recruitment partners.
  • Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC 2006, and flag state requirements.
  • Manage crew databases and forecast hiring needs.
  • Coordinate pre-employment medicals, background checks, and certification verification.
  • Support crew retention and career development initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation and participate in audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, HR, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in crewing within a shipowner or ship management company.
  • Strong understanding of maritime regulations and workforce planning.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
