Job Description:The OpportunitySave the Children is the world's leading independent organization for children, working in 117 countries with more than 25,000 staff. In April 2020, Save the Children launched the in Asia. CUBIC is the first “nudge unit” in the world to focus specifically on children's rights and welfare. Our goal is to creates change for the world's most marginalized children ​by applying behavioral science.ProjectsCUBIC is currently seeking a Master's (or Ph. D.) level intern(s) to support its projects during the summer of 2025, including, but not restricted to: * Reducing children's engagement in hazardous work in Cote d'Ivoire.
  • Reducing child marriage and teenage pregnancy in Zambia and in the Philippines.
  • Increasing parental engagement with newborns in the Philippines.
  • Reducing corporal punishment and increasing incidence reporting in Zambia.
  • Increasing regular donations in UK.
  • Increasing Behavioral Science and AI capacity building in Jordan.
  • Supporting the Applied Behavioral Science Course for Early Childhood Development Practitioners.
Internship ObjectivesThe intern will be integrated into the 11-person CUBIC team and will have the opportunity to get involved in multiple projects - the expectation for the intern is that s/he would primarily contribute to:
  • Desk Review
  • Conducting desk research that includes literature reviews, data availability, and project documentation on behavioral issues/previous evidence on particular topics etc.
  • Conducting stakeholder/policy mapping.
  • Providing help with Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethical Committee (EC) submissions.
  • Data analysis
  • Conducting quantitative analysis of existing surveys or other available datasets and impact evaluations.
  • Conducting qualitative analysis.
  • Presentation of data in compelling and comprehensible ways.
  • Analytical work
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations at every stage of the project.
  • Supporting the design of experiments.
  • Drafting and/or editing project briefs and reports.
  • Drafting academic papers for journal submission, where results are suitable for publication
  • Assisting with behavioral design training sessions and capacity building initiatives.
  • Other tasks as per the intern's time and interest, and needs of CUBIC.
Skills Required
  • Must be enrolled in/or a recent graduate of a Master's program in Social Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Behavioral Economics, Behavioral Science, Public Policy, Anthropology or a related field.
  • Candidates fluent in French, in addition to English are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong qualitative or mixed methods skills for social research (experience working with data analysis software such as NVivo, ATLAS.ti or similar).
  • Strong quantitative, research, and data analytic skills (experience working with data analysis software such as STATA, R or Python).
  • Strong understanding of Behavioral Science concepts and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs).
  • Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills, and ability to present data and analysis in compelling and understandable formats.
Time RequirementsFull time internship - graduate students between their first and second year at university who would be able to dedicate 35 hours a week to the team for a minimum of 10-12 weeks between May and September 2025.Part time internship - we also encourage candidates to apply on a part-time basis to dedicate 10-12h a week for 9 consecutive months.There is a strong possibility of extending the internship if both sides agree for a period of 9 months on a part-time basis.ConditionsThe Intern would be engaged on a voluntary basis and would sign a volunteer contract with Save the Children. The working schedule would be determined by the intern; however, attendance during regular calls with our country partner teams would be important.LocationRemote - Our preference is for the intern to be based in Asia, Africa, the Middle East or Eastern Europe, between UTC and UTC + 8 time zones, due to meeting scheduling requirements.
