What the role is:In the Vector Control Policy Department (VCPD), as a member of the forward planning team, you will collaborate closely with key divisions within the Public Health Pillar on various policy-related projects. This includes conducting policy analysis, formulating new policies and strategies, developing regulations, and reviewing existing policy positions to strengthen the Public Health Pillar's effectiveness. You will also be responsible for coordinating and developing workplans for the Public Health Pillar, including organising workshops to effectively plan and cascade these initiatives throughout the Pillar. Your role also encompasses supporting organisational health and handling key administrative matters. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.What you will be working on:You will be responsible for the following:
  • Conduct and coordinate reviews that cut across public health matters
  • For the policy-related projects, you will:
  • Look into the formulation and review of operational policies and procedures to support NEA's strategic objectives
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and regulatory requirements for policy development
  • Evaluate existing policies and recommend updates or revisions to ensure relevance and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and feedback on proposed policies and ensure alignment with stakeholder needs
  • Plan and organise annual workplans cascade and planning workshops, taking reference from NEA's strategic planning cycles
  • Manage procurement of goods and services for events/activities
  • Coordinate meetings and assist in secretariat duties
What we are looking for:You possess the following qualities:
  • Background in science, public health, environmental science, environmental studies and environmental engineering is preferred
  • Prior relevant working experience in policy formulation and stakeholder engagement will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and sense-making skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to engage stakeholders across different levels
  • A good team player who enjoys interacting and working with others
  • Self-driven, able to work independently and multi-task
  • Careful and meticulous with an eye for details
  • Resourceful and able to take initiatives to drive projects and meet tight timelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
