What the role is:You are the subject matter expert in maritime Geographical Information Systems (GIS), marine related data (including hydrographic data). You need to be familiar with marine cartography.What you will be working on:- Setup and manage the maritime geospatial database consisting of the development, updating, production of derived maritime products - Carry out evaluation of data sources for maritime geospatial layers production to meet the needs - Plan and manage the production of maritime GIS derived products - Keep pace with latest industry geospatial technologies, data sources and governance standards so as to enhance workflows, data interoperability and explore new products and applications - Manage internal and external users, including Whole-of-Government (WoG) agencies to source, collate and provide marine related information to meet users' maritime geospatial requirements - Support on national maritime related matters Challenge(s) - Having technical knowledge in GIS-related fields and the maritime domain - Being technically inclined to use GIS as a tool to make products and recommendations to stakeholders on geospatial needsWhat we are looking for:- Education in Geography, GIS, Marine Science/Science is preferred - At least 3 years of work experience in a related field - Strong eye for detail - Meticulous in work Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
