About the Job

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Corporate Accounting (EMEA) & Project Manager. In this dual-focused role, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations for the EMEA region, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly closings. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving finance transformation initiatives, contributing to the strategic improvement of financial processes and systems.

This position requires a strong background in EMEA corporate accounting knowledge, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to balance day-to-day financial responsibilities with long-term transformation projects.

Main Responsibilities

Project Management & Finance Transformation

  • Lead and execute finance transformation projects, including SAP and OneStream EPM implementations.
  • Manage global financial consolidation processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
  • Support & manage corporate M&A finance processes and related deliverables, including working with consultants and managing divestiture and acquisition activities.
  • Design and implement management reporting frameworks, delivering key financial insights to senior executives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to streamline finance operations and reporting.
  • Liaise with external consultants and stakeholders to drive successful project execution.
  • Provide financial planning and analysis support within the OneStream system, ensuring continuously improvement of process efficiency through technology and best practices.

Corporate Accounting (EMEA)

  • Take responsibility for EMEA Financial Accounting and oversee General Ledger (GL) Accounting with support of the BPO provider.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including local statutory and corporate reporting for European subsidiaries and branches.
  • Perform Balance Sheet review & analysis, end-to-end financial reporting, filing, and compliance work, and liaise with auditors and external authorities in EMEA.
  • Manage the Record to Close process, including fixed assets, cash accounting, intercompany transactions, and currency accounting.
  • Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring BPO vendors meet deadlines and maintain accounting accuracy.
  • Lead accounting projects for EMEA region, such as OneStream software implementation and M&A projects.
  • Maintain an accounting close calendar of all European subsidiaries and branches, and close the books on time, and prepare the reporting packages to report to Corporate Japan monthly/quarterly.
  • Business partnering with Sales and Operations teams to support their business needs for management reporting.
  • Overseeing EMEA subsidiaries and branches accounting and work closely with the BPO and consultant accounting teams to close the books of the subsidiaries/branches and prepare the required audit schedules to support efficient annual audits with the external auditors.
  • Provide all necessary analysis and reports for local management reporting, and local statutory financial statements.
  • Know and ensure that IFRS standards and internal policies are appropriately applied.

  • Business Acumen & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong business acumen and partnering skills to collaborate effectively across functions, including manufacturing, operations, and sales, as well as across international borders.
  • Financial & Accounting Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and global consolidation principles, including IFRS 3 (Business Combinations) and experienced in preparing consolidated financial statements and IFRS statutory reports.
  • Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) & ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with EPM software (e.g., OneStream, Tagetik) and proficiency in SAP.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel modeling and the ability to design accurate consolidation worksheets. Strong attention to detail and quality in financial reporting.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Ability to efficiently resolve financial and operational challenges with strong communication skills and an international mindset.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; Proficiency in German is required to support EMEA operations.
  • Professionalism & Resilience: Maintains a credible, optimistic, and professional attitude under pressure.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in EPM implementation, M&A finance, and business partnering.
  • Background in a Big 4 CPA firm is required.
