What You Can Expect

Marvell is seeking an experienced Director of Test Operations to lead our Test Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the managing ATE (Automatic Test Equipment), handlers, and probers resources to support Test and Product Engineering groups on their projects. As a strategic leader, this role is responsible for driving tool capacity planning and operational excellence to effectively support Marvell Test and Product teams. The successful candidate has a proven track record in leadership, a deep understanding of test operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal stake holders (Product & Test Engineering, Supply Chain), external tool vendors and OSAT partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the test operations team, ensuring that ATE/Handlers/Probers tools and platforms are optimally utilized for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and calibration of Teradyne and Advantest test platforms, ensuring all systems are performing to specification.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize test processes and enhance operational effectiveness to support Product and Test Engineers located in Marvell global sites.
  • Partner with stake holders in managing hardware (Load boards, Probe cards, Change kits, Sockets) design, fabrication, testing and deployment to support NPI projects and high volume ramp ups in OSATs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment vendors, service providers and OSATs for high volume ramp up projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data and feedback to optimize test operations and reduce downtime.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to test equipment and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies related to test equipment and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations related to test equipment and operations.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in Product/Test Engineering or Test Operations, with a focus on ATE/Handlers/Probers tools.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams.

Highly desirable

  • In-depth knowledge of Teradyne and Advantest test equipment, including installation, maintenance, and calibration.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good understanding in correlations, calibration, golden unit test, preventive maintenance & production release processes.
  • Experience with Hontech handlers, Tel probers, and Opus probers is highly desirable.
  • Ability to establish operational procedures and monitor compliance.
  • Experience in driving root cause analysis and CA/PA/8D reports.
  • Self-starter, fast learner, good communicator, able to work in matrix organization, juggle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge in ESD controls, GRR, 5S, TPM, OEE, 8D, ISO-9K, MS-Office tools
