
Associate Psychologist
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Associate Psychologist to join our team at Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home. In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting mental well-being and supporting the recovery of children and young persons (CYP) within a trauma-informed residential setting. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide psychological assessments, interventions, and psychoeducational programs that contribute to the holistic development of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychological services to children and young persons in a residential care setting.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments to support individualized care plans (ICP).
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to residents’ needs.
- Conduct psychoeducational programs and structured group work for residents and their families.
- Provide coaching support in various settings to generalize behaviours and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support.
- Participate in data collection, research, and program evaluation to enhance service effectiveness.
Requirements
Technical Competencies:
- Degree in Psychology or higher.
- At least 2 years of related work experience in the social service sector, preferably with children and youth.
- Full membership with the Singapore Psychological Society would be advantageous.
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrates an understanding of established theories and current research on children and youth mental health and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively, relate well to children, and build positive working relationships.
- Working knowledge of psychotherapy or counselling modalities would be a plus.
Preferred Achievements & Characteristics:
- A positive attitude with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to unexpected situations.
- Strong stress and crisis management skills, with the ability to remain calm and make informed decisions under pressure.
