
Executive - Volunteer Management
Job Purpose
To support the mission of MWS Active Ageing Centres through the recruitment, training and development of volunteers to be engaged in the implementation of (1) active ageing programmes that would build the seniors’ self-help capacity, (2) outreach and befriending of seniors in the community.
Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Management, Recruitment, Training and Development
- Recruitment of new volunteers. Assign volunteers to relevant roles
- Provide on-boarding and facilitate training to volunteers.
- Motivate and retain volunteers.
- Engage volunteers, including those from partner churches, other community volunteer groups, schools, and or companies fulfilling corporate social responsibilities etc. to
- Plan, organize and conduct centre-based active-ageing programmes and interest groups
- Participate in home-based Befriending and Buddying services
- Participate in outreach, road-shows and ad-hoc festive events
- Manage Volunteer Management System (VMS) for Centre volunteers including registration and volunteers’ attendance.
2. Outreach and Befriending Services
- Strategy planning of effective outreach programmes and activities.
- Co-ordinate outreach efforts with volunteers and volunteer groups to identify socially isolated seniors and seniors who require care management.
- Conduct wellness assessments of seniors.
- Assign befrienders to provide befriending services to socially isolated seniors.
- Monitor the effectiveness of befriending through regular reports from befriender and feedback surveys from befriendees
- Onward referrals to case management executive for service linkage and care coordination, when required.
3. Programme Co-ordination and Administration – support the Centre Manager to
- Empower seniors to participate in developing and implementing suitable active ageing programmes.
- Collaborate with community partners to organise outreach programmes
- Ensure compliance to Finance and Human Resources policies, maintaining documentation for internal and external audits.
- Achieve service requirements and meet MOH KPIs.
- Prepare data for submission to MOH and AIC which includes but not limited to:-
- Registration of all volunteers, befriendees and home visits records
- Registration of Wellness assessments, Information and Referrals made for befriendees
- Registration of Client satisfaction and Volunteers’ surveys
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree holder, preferably in community services, healthcare or social services
- Experience in the social service sector will be an advantage
- Passionate to work and interact with seniors in the community
- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to manage and motivate a pool of volunteers
- Good communication skills
- Good facilitation skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Team member skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work on weekends, when required, with time off-in-lieu
