Main Responsibilities
- Develop a structured approach to managing broker relationships by working with the Head of Division and facilitating regular business meetings with broker team leads.
- Collaborate with the Head of Division to manage broker engagement for both renewals and new business pipelines.
- Assist in achieving the company’s GWP and underwriting profit targets, including conducting portfolio analysis and business reviews.
- Evaluate, underwrite, and quote risks for commercial classes (e.g., Property, Casualty, Engineering, Marine) in line with assigned authority, company underwriting guidelines, and treaty arrangements.
- Arrange facultative reinsurance placements or accept reinsurance for risks underwritten by the business unit, ensuring all contract certainty documentation is complete.
- Work with Corporate Solutions in credit control to monitor and follow up on outstanding premiums.
- Guide junior underwriters in business strategy and underwriting practices.
- Undertake additional assignments as allocated by the Division Head and CEO to support overall corporate objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in General Insurance in the Business development space.
- Possess a Certificate in General Insurance.
- A team player with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize customers at the core of the business.
