
Corporate Secretary Cum Accountant
Responsibilities
Corporate Secretarial duties:
- Serve as the Corporate Secretary for clients, overseeing corporate secretarial responsibilities for both the company and its clients.
- Handle company incorporation with ACRA, conduct KYC and due diligence checks via SentroWeb, draft company resolutions, board and members' minutes, maintain shareholder registers, and manage ACRA filings.
- Assist with corporate bank account openings by coordinating with bankers.
- Communicate and collaborate with external entities such as auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including annual returns, board resolutions, and meeting minutes, in line with regulatory obligations.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policies, and Delegation of Authority procedures.
- Oversee regulatory compliance and reporting with ACRA.
- Submit required surveys and statistical reports to government agencies.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
Accounting duties:
- Manage and oversee end-of-month financial tasks, including journal entries, schedules, and bank reconciliations.
- Support in gathering data for GST reporting, applying GST expertise, and completing quarterly submissions to IRAS.
- Ensure precise recording of all monetary activities such as revenue, expenditures, acquisitions, and payroll within XERO accounting system.
- Produce financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, with accuracy and punctuality using XERO.
- Help verify submitted documents to ensure adherence to internal control standards and alignment with company policies.
Requirements:
- Possess a Degree in Accountancy or a recognized accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, LCCI) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of relevant experience in corporate secretarial and accounting roles.
- Well-versed in Singapore’s Companies Act.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Infotech or Xero is an advantage.
- Registered as a Qualified Individual under ACRA (Filing Agents and Qualified Individuals) Regulations.
