Job Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders for appropriateness and ensure accurate processing and dispensing of drugs.
  • Dispense medications to patients and ensure adequate drug stock supply to nursing units.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication use, dosage, side effects, and adherence strategies.
  • Serve as a drug information resource for doctors, nurses, and patients.
  • Supervise and train pharmacy assistants to ensure adherence to pharmacy protocols.\
  • Conduct quality assurance procedures, including ward inspections and expiry date checks.\
  • Manage controlled drugs supply and distribution, adverse drug reaction reporting, and drug usage monitoring.
  • Participate in medication reconciliation rounds and specialized counseling sessions, such as warfarin counseling and inhalation techniques counseling.
  • Engage in specialized care units such as the ICU, Transplant Unit, pain management, and diabetes counseling (if assigned/applicable).
  • Take part in other medication-therapy-related duties and projects as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and clinical protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed clinical decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
