Salary Range:
Full time: $3,000 - $6,000
Freelancer: $100 to 150/ classess
Department: Operations Department - F&B
Location: Downtown, Singapore
Overall Job Objectives
As a Cooking Instructor, you will lead interactive cooking classes, sharing your passion and expertise in the culinary arts. You’ll guide students in group settings or private sessions, demonstrating techniques, teaching recipes, and fostering a positive, hands-on learning environment. This role also involves managing studio operations and promoting sustainability by reducing food waste and managing costs effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Teach and conduct cooking classes with patience and professionalism, catering to different learning needs and experiences.
- Manage the daily operations of the cooking studio to ensure smooth and enjoyable classes.
- Plan lesson structures and ensure classes are engaging, educational, and aligned with studio standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the studio for a safe and welcoming learning space.
- Be proactive in managing food costs and reducing waste while maintaining quality.
- Prepare all required ingredients, tools, and equipment before class sessions.
- Support the team with any additional assigned tasks or operational needs.
Job Specifications
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- 1-2 years of experience as a culinary instructor or similar role.
- WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is a plus but not required.
- Specialization in specific cuisines or techniques is an advantage.
- Strong communication and teaching skills, with a passion for sharing culinary knowledge.
Key Deliverables
- Conduct engaging and professional cooking classes, demonstrating proper food preparation techniques, safe use of kitchen equipment, and a variety of recipes.
- Oversee the daily operations of the cooking studio, ensuring smooth execution of classes and maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare detailed and well-structured lesson plans for cooking classes, catering to various skill levels and interests.
- Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards in the studio, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for all participants.
- Undertake ad-hoc and operational duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the studio.
