Job description:

  • Perform vessel/ barge intact & damage stability calculations.
  • Perform vessel/ barge longitudinal strength calculations.
  • Perform vessel/ barge deck local strength calculations.
  • Perform accelerations/ sea fastening calculations.
  • Perform mooring and load out calculations.
  • Perform towing resistance calculations.
  • Perform module structural integrity check.
  • Perform steel structural calculations and design.
  • Perform heavy lift & transportation calculation & design.
  • Liaise with marine warranty surveyors and/ or classification societies.
  • Meeting with client for technical discussion.
  • Provide engineering support to Construction/Commissioning work at site.
  • Willing to travel

Requirements:

  • Degree in Naval Architecture.
  • At least 2 yrs working experience in shipbuilding, ship or marine design is preferred.
  • Familiar with the approval process and in dealing with marine warranty surveyors and/ or classification societies.
  • Knowledge of marine warranty surveyors and classification rules & requirements, and other relevant engineering standards applicable to vessels/ barges and structural design.
  • Experience with a structural design and finite element analysis of vessels/ barges/ structures.
  • Experience in 2D or 3D CAD, MS Office and naval architecture/ structural design tools.
