Chartering Operations (Tanker)

Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth execution of charter parties, including coordinating vessel nominations, bunkering, and voyage planning.
• Handle all post-fixture activities such as issuing voyage orders, monitoring vessel performance, and ensuring compliance with charter party terms.
• Accurately calculate laytime and manage demurrage claims to optimize financial performance.
• Liaise with charterers, shipowners, brokers, and port agents to ensure adherence to contract terms.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations (e.g., MARPOL, SOLAS) and local Singaporean maritime laws.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, including delays, cargo handling issues, and bunker quality concerns.
• Track and report vessel performance, freight market trends, and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely updates and resolving operational issues efficiently.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tanker chartering operations, preferably in crude oil, product, or chemical tankers.
• A degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business, or an equivalent field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of chartering terms (e.g., voyage, time charter), laytime calculations, and bunker procurement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with shipowners, charterers, and brokers effectively.
• Familiarity with shipping software and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
