About The Role
Join us as Senior Analyst, Stewardship and Research at AIA Investment Management!
We are seeking for a Senior Analyst to be responsible for supporting the Regional Head of Equities Research and Stewardship to implement the Stewardship Target Operating Model, AIA’s Group-wide ESG commitments (Net-Zero including Science Based Targets initiative (“SBTi”) and broader ESG journey. The incumbent will focus on using data analytics and automation to enhance the operating efficiency of the stewardship and engagement function, focusing on investee companies across all sectors globally and across asset classes of both internally and externally managed portfolio holdings group-wide.
Responsibilities
- Build a filtering mechanism to monitor and prioritize the list of investee companies that the research and stewardship analysts need to engage by utilizing advanced data analytics to develop and regularly update the stewardship database, given the dynamic and expanding nature of the invested assets across all BUs and in-scope asset classes in AIA Group.
- Develop tools to automate the ingestion of ESG data and information of investee companies that can be regularly refreshed as new information becomes available. This would involve extracting structured and unstructured data from various sources (including MSCI, Bloomberg, FactSet, investee company disclosures) on material ESG metrics of all investee companies.
- Utilize the ingested ESG-related data and information collected to enhance the operating efficiency of the production of stewardship & engagement-related research and scoring of investee companies.
- Consolidate, analyze and provide insights on group-wide investee companies’ decarbonization efforts, progress towards net zero/SBTi and other material ESG-related risks and opportunities based on the investee company disclosures, engagement results and other relevant information sources.
- Construct a stewardship progress summary report on power Bi dashboard to provide concise regular updates to key stakeholders group-wide.
- Automate and improve the process and efficiency of thematic engagements with in-scope investee companies; and summarizing the engagement outcomes.
- Directly engage with a select number of high-priority investee companies that are material holdings and held in externally managed portfolios.
- Participate in collaborative engagements and working group initiatives with other industry players and associations.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with minimum 8 years work experience in Data Analytics and Programming. Work experience in Financial Research & Analysis and/or ESG/Stewardship would be a plus
- Certifications or licenses in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Programming, ESG, CFA certifications preferred
- Proficiency in Data Science & Analytics and Programming skills and/or Strong FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Excel, Power Bi and Powerpoint skills
- Ability to manage large volume of ESG and investment holdings data and information, with keen attention to detail
- Well-organized and systematic, goal-oriented, with strong ability to deliver and achieve targets on schedule
- Dynamic and adaptable to changes in business needs and work priorities
- Highly collaborative and supportive team player
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders across countries globally and across business functions
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills
