About the role

As an Accountant – Financial Reporting, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all regulatory and statutory financial reporting requirements for our Singapore operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and regional colleagues to drive efficiency, process improvements, and transformation initiatives.

Purpose and Accountabilities of the role

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal controls and compliance measures.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and statutory reports, including MAS returns, IRAS GST filings, and annual financial statements, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Generate weekly and monthly management reports to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare reinsurance statements of accounts and coordinate with the ceded reinsurance accounting team on quarterly statements, XOL allocated costs, premium adjustments, and reinsurance payments.
  • Assist with the implementation of IFRS 17 and other financial reporting transformations.
  • Support regional finance projects and initiatives aimed at streamlining processes and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate reporting processes for greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Undertake other finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or completion of professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in financial reporting within an insurance or reinsurance company.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory reporting, and financial controls.
  • Experience with MAS reporting is highly desirable.
  • Proactive, analytical, and problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability to a start-up or high-growth environment.
