Job Description

Provide safe and quality peri-operative nursing care and services in the Day Surgery Ward including deputizing duties, in accordance to established hospital policies and procedures, standard of nursing care and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate peri-anaesthesia patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcome.
  • To ensure the care and maintenance of AU machine and equipment are functioning prior administration of anaesthesia to the patient.
  • To demonstrate good and competent clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in the delivery of quality nursing skills.
  • To participate in the care an maintenance of specialized, ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination/disinfection at all times including accurate record of traceability of all equipment.
  • To collaborate with anaesthetists and other healthcare providers in the anaesthesia unit in order to deliver safe and high standard care
  • To assist in day surgery cases and other minor surgery cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Candidates with Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent will have an advantage.
  • A meticulous and analytical team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience preferably in Perioperative / Peri-anesthesia or equivalent.
