
Assistant/ Finance Director (Non- Profit/ Financial policy)
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Assistant/ Finance Director to lead financial policies, budgeting, risk management, and compliance functions. This role will be responsible for ensuring financial stewardship, governance, and operational excellence to support the organization's mission.
Finance Policies & Processes
- Develop and maintain financial policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates to the Finance Manual and risk management policies.
- Monitor financial performance, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Collaborate with department managers to develop and oversee annual budgets.
- Analyze monthly financial statements, conduct variance analysis, and propose corrective actions.
- Manage financial planning, grant applications, and fund utilization monitoring.
- Oversee fee revisions, service revenue planning, and financial proforma for new programs.
Risk Management, Compliance & Audit
- Serve as Secretary to the Audit and Risk Management Subcommittee and Investment Advisory Committee.
- Act as the Risk Owner for financial risks and Risk Officer for the organization.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and tax-deductible donations.
- Oversee quarterly GST returns and regulatory submissions (Department of Statistics, IPC tax-deductible donations, etc.).
- Coordinate and manage internal, statutory, and governance audits, acting as the main liaison with auditors.
- Establish Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) framework and ensure compliance with the Charity Code of Governance.
Client Service Office Management
- Oversee revenue collection and administrative workflows to optimize client service office performance.
- Ensure efficient revenue collection processes from clients.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of senior management experience in financial accounting or audit.
- Strong knowledge of Charities Act, ACRA reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Treasury functions, Risk Management, and ESG reporting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and engage stakeholders.
- Experience working in Non-profit organization is a plus
