Scientific Communication and Regulatory Affairs Manager

About the Role - The Scientific Communication play a critical role in the delivery of our scientific message to all stakeholders. This job acts as the ambassador for Royal Canin that is responsible for development and execution of training, scientific communication programmes and materials for all stakeholders to support the sales goals of the business and help drive trust towards our brand. As part of Corporate Affairs team in South East Asia, this person is also expected to provide support to other members of the team whenever deemed appropriate and necessary to fulfil the goals and ambitions of Royal Canin locally and globally.
Responsibilities -
Scientific Communication:
- Lead the education execution for both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining close collaboration with Sales and Marketing, Brand, and SEA Corporate Affairs team.
- Responsible for reviewing and adapting scientific content of many scientific communications-related activities such as global scientific documents, digital assets for internal and external audience.
- Provides scientific strategic insights and collaborates with SEA Scientific Communications & Scientific Affairs Lead where necessary regarding scientific communication activities and content.
- Assists with the analysis of insights gained from Health Affairs communication activities and recommend actionable initiatives (or measures) to internal stakeholders.
- Other related duties as assigned
Regulatory Affairs:
- Ensure compliance with product-related regulation, including but not limited to: Ingredients, labelling, claims, product registration, packaging & import/export challenges
- Maximize opportunity & minimize risk by guiding business decisions based on regulatory insight and provide appropriate governance structure.
- Manage horizon scan for the market, beyond nutrition (e.g., services, sustainability, trade, D2C, etc.)
- Monitor regulatory environment
- Develop stakeholder mapping and engagement plan to influence regulatory environment
- Build long-term relationship with professional community & key stakeholders (Vet Associations; Breeder associations; etc.)
- Manage & further develop the network with trade associations
- Develop and provide technical/product/nutritional presentations to key internal and external stakeholders to disseminate information regarding Royal Canin, products and pet nutrition
- Play strategic thought leadership role through participation/leadership on product planning teams including evaluation and input to product and research pipelines and tool development.
Qualifications -
- Veterinary degree required.
- Minimum of 2 years of people management experience and experience in Regulatory Affairs, public policy or Trade Association related field, preferable in animal drugs industry.
- Solid knowledge of the small animal health industry.
- Stakeholders engagement & Advocacy.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of nutrition and pet food law and regulatory frameworks, and challenging scientific dossiers.
- Understanding key messages from scientific information and defending complex regulatory and scientific challenges with appropriate data.
- Experience of communicating with, and influencing trade and professional organizations;
- Experience of technical scientific and nutrition issues in a business context.
- Excellent communication. Microsoft Office proficiency required. Strongly able to apply appropriate oral and written communication techniques.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
