Role Purpose

To lead and execute the development of Health & Beauty store design projects, ensuring the seamless transition from concept creation to final handover. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Strategically plan, organize, and oversee all phases of store design projects, including workflow management, to achieve objectives within prescribed timelines and budgets.

Design Alignment and Compliance

  • Ensure that the scope of work aligns with Brand Standards, adheres to the budget, and meets all regulatory licensing and code requirements.
  • Review and refine design intent documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across all projects.

Site Assessment and Design Development

  • Conduct and produce precise measured site surveys to inform design decisions.
  • Create and validate accurate base plans and use them as the foundation for site-specific design solutions.

Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E)

  • Select appropriate furniture, fixtures, finishes, and equipment tailored to each site’s unique requirements.
  • Customize construction details where necessary to address specific project needs.

Stakeholder and Consultant Coordination

  • Drive and manage external consultants, ensuring they deliver project outcomes aligned with design intent and Brand Standards.
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional team reviews, facilitating collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.

Brand Standards and Quality Assurance

  • Safeguard the visual and functional integrity of Brand Standards across all designs and implementations.
  • Establish review processes to ensure all deliverables meet the required standards.

Team Development and Capability Building

  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth and capability enhancement.
  • Provide constructive guidance and feedback to strengthen individual and team performance.

Requirements

  • Diploma holder/university degree in Architecture, Interior Design and/or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in Health & Beauty Design retail environment.
  • Customer-Centric: Strong focus on customer needs with deep knowledge of industry trends in retail store design, including FF&E.
  • Design Expertise: Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, excellent knowledge of colour and materiality, and adherence to sound design principles.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp (or other 3D visualization tools), Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiar with government submissions, building regulations, health codes, and compliance standards.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding presentation, written, and verbal communication abilities to articulate design intent and ideas effectively.
  • Decision-Making: Able to make informed decisions based on design judgment, operational constraints, and Brand Standards.
