Based at our Corporate Office in Singapore, we are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join us as Director, IT Applications (Lead).

The Director, IT Applications (Lead) is responsible for leading the IT team in managing the lifecycle, development, implementation, and maintenance of all hotel applications within the group. This leadership role focuses on optimizing application performance, aligning business requirements with technology solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of hotel systems. The director will provide strategic direction and guidance to support operational efficiency, enhance guest experiences, and safeguard data security across all hotel applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hotel applications team to oversee the entire lifecycle of hotel software applications, including their requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Define the strategic direction for hotel applications and ensure alignment with the business needs and objectives of the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to define application requirements and recommend technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and guest experiences.
  • Oversee the integration and performance optimization of core hotel applications such as Property Management Systems (Opera), Point of Sale Systems (Infrasys), and other enterprise-level systems.
  • Ensure applications are developed, tested, and deployed following industry best practices, maintaining high-quality standards and timelines.
  • Ensure the integration of hotel applications, ensuring seamless data flow across different systems, and addressing any integration gaps.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in the support and maintenance of applications, collaborating with third-party vendors for issue resolution and performance improvements.
  • Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to enforce application security policies, including vulnerability management, encryption, and regular security assessments to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and foster a knowledge-sharing culture within the IT team to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that applications are configured to optimize performance and align with changing business requirements.
  • Drive training initiatives to enhance user adoption and ensure all stakeholders are proficient in using hotel applications effectively.
  • Monitor application performance and reliability, ensuring high availability and efficiency to minimize downtime.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in hotel applications and technology, recommending solutions to drive innovation and improve operational processes.

The Person

  • Prior experience (at least 7-10 years) in application project management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Prior experience in leading and managing teams responsible for the full lifecycle of hotel software applications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hotel applications such as Opera, Infrasys, and other enterprise-level hotel systems.
  • In-depth understanding of application security principles and management.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and set strategic priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead teams and collaborate effectively with various departments.
