Job Responsibilities
- System Development & Testing:
- Develop and test fibre-optics geotechnical instrumentation systems, including deployment, calibration, and verification.
- Business Strategy:
- Develop and implement business plans, including market analysis, growth strategies, sales projections, and budgeting for fibre-optic instrumentation and asset monitoring
- Project Leadership:
- Oversee project operations, including planning, scheduling, scope management, and budgeting for fibre-optics initiatives.
- Technical Support:
- Provide ongoing technical support to systems after commissioning and troubleshoot issues related to optical nodes and instruments.
- Product Development & Promotion:
- Develop and promote fibre-optic products and services to existing and potential clients.
- Stakeholder Liaison:
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to define project requirements, responsibilities, and restrictions.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Identify and establish partnerships with complementary service providers and fibre-optics manufacturers, both locally and internationally.
- Hands-on experience in geotechnical instrumentation with fibre-optics.
- Strong knowledge of fibre-optic technologies and systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Familiarity with geotechnical instrumentation works and emerging technologies in the field.
- Educational Background:
- A degree in Civil, Fibre Optics, Geotechnical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring projects using fibre-optic technology and asset monitoring
- Technical Expertise:
- Understanding of key fibre-optic mechanisms and technologies, including:
- Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG)
- Stimulated Brillouin Scattering
- Raman Scattering
- Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing Technology
- Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (BOTDR)
- Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis (BOTDA)
