
Assistant Engineer

NLCS (Singapore) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly dependable and committed Assistant Engineer, as a part of the Facilities team is to provide logistical and facilities maintenance support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Vigilant on safeguarding and HSE matters to perform engineering activities.
- Plan and implement the various system maintenance program in accordance to budget provisions and schedules, inclusive performing checks on facilities requirement.
- Site management and supervise contractors and staff during replacement & repair of the facilities system.
- Ensure that relevant claims and documents are promptly submitted by Contractors and processed for eventual job closing.
- Liaise and work together with various departments for Addition & Alteration works, request and defects rectification activities.
- Ensure all relevant documents and approvals have been obtained prior to start of substation maintenance/repair and related works.
- Perform necessary coordination between contractors and/or end users to ensure job can be fulfilled and proper planning.
- Attend to end’s user and/or Authorities' complaints & feedback.
- Perform standby duty during and after office hours for substation maintenance/repair and related works where applicable
- Manage and guide junior officers for substation maintenance/repair and related works. This includes preparation, update and submit weekly report and contractual status of the facilities systems.
- Advise and lead the technical investigations for rectification works.
- Liaise with contractors for rectification works or ad-hoc jobs.
- Strong Plumbing/ Mechanical / Electrical / ELV skills to Investigate, analyse, and determine the root cause for breakdowns and faults.
- Proper follow ups of issues with evidence to substantiate the closure.
- Willingness to learn in a new environment and awareness of safety practice.
- Prepare technical reports on breakdowns and proposals.
- Any other ad-hoc assignments assigned by the supervisor.
Safeguarding:
- No criminal records.
- Comfortable working in a school environment with teachers and students.
- Abide by the safeguard protocols establish by the school
What you need:
- Degree / Diploma / Higher NITEC in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Facilities or Engineering
- Possess skills in RCA, problem-solving, project planning, execution, and management.
- May be required and willing to work some weekends based on operational needs and will be compensate accordingly.
- Good team player and possess skills in statistical analysis and evaluation
- Possess a valid driving license and having own transport would be advantageous
- Good grasp of using Microsoft applications, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Highly motivated individual with a positive attitude
- Able to work independently, as well as in a team and in a challenging environment
