What the role is:The Sustainability Division (SD) plans, strategises and develops initiatives to drive resource conservation and environmental sustainability across the public, private and people sectors. It develops programmes, coordinates and builds capability to support this drive. It also coordinates efforts within NEA for the organisation and its staff to play its own part in meeting the national targets as set out in the SG Greenplan 2030 and Greengov.SG.You will be part of the Sustainability Office and Planning Branch that develops plans to drive resource reduction and food waste recycling efforts, coordinates environmental sustainability efforts within NEA, and ensure that NEA continues to contribute to our nation's drive for environmental sustainability.What you will be working on:You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time on the following:Evaluate the effectiveness of Singapore's recycling initiatives and conduct in-depth analysis on waste streams with potential for waste diversion and recyclingDevelop plans and initiatives to support food waste segregation and treatment efforts for various sectorsReview and amend relevant Acts and Subsidiary Legislation.Initiate and/or champion programmes and initiatives for NEA to meet our obligations under the SG Greenplan 2030 and GreenGov.SG requirementsProvide secretariat support to relevant committees/meetings, and other dutiesWhat we are looking for:Degree in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Chemical, Civil or Environmental EngineeringRelevant experience in environmental sustainability/climate change areas is preferredAbility to analyse data using Excel to derive key insights for the organisation's strategy or operations.
