Our client is a pioneering Singapore-based CDMO in microbial fermentation from lab to pilot scale, supporting various companies in process optimization and scale-up. They are in search of a Microbiologist to join their team.
  • Due to job nature, work schedule includes weekends and night shift support (based on project needs)
  • Work location: Biopolis and Tuas (shuttling between two locations will be provided)
  • Priority is given to Singaporean and Permanent Residents.
The JobThe Microbiologist works with fermentation scientists in developing optimized culture conditions for newly developed or existing production strains (from customer). You will perform a series of tasks related to fermentation technology, including strain propagation, bench top and pilot scale fermentations, operating pilot plant & analytical instruments in the lab, media preparation, sample collection and analysis, and running regular maintenance at the lab and pilot plant.The Talent
  • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 3 years' industrial experience.
  • Experience in microbial isolation, cultivation, characterization and identification, microbial physiology and/or ecology, 16S rRNA qPCR, Western blotting, and basic genetic engineering tools and analytical tools (HPLC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with strain handling, microbial communities, high-throughput screenings, and fermentation.
  • Demonstrating success in taking ideas to strain or process development and improvement.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, be able to multi-task and exhibit a strong sense of urgency in order to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data from laboratory and plant operations with statistic tools.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities; must be able to work independently in a team environment, maintain a positive attitude
