Senior Social Media Executive
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable individual to act as the bridge between our client team (based in China) and our social team in Kuala Lumpur. This role requires a deep understanding of social media content development, overseas social platform operations (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, RedNote), and social media buying. The ideal candidate will manage client expectations effectively and demonstrate flexibility in addressing gaps between cross-cultural teams.
Client is a leading home appliance brand. Therefore, candidates with experience or a passion for consumer tech and B2C lifestyle communication will thrive in this position. Working experience in China and familiarity with consumer tech trends are significant advantages.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Collaboration
- Serve as the main point of contact between the China-based client team and the KL social team (non-Chinese speakers).
- Ensure smooth communication and alignment of goals across both teams, bridging cultural and operational gaps.
- Manage client expectations effectively, adapting strategies and approaches to meet both client and internal requirements.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Oversee social content development for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and RedNote.
- Plan and manage social media buying campaigns to optimize reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with internal creative and content teams to develop and execute platform-specific strategies.
Content Development
- Ideate and create compelling content tailored for consumer tech audiences, emphasizing lifestyle appeal.
- Stay updated on emerging industry trends and integrate them into campaigns.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance campaign outcomes and content strategy.
Team Support & Mentorship
- Guide junior team members on projects and foster a collaborative, productive work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media & Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in social media management, content development, or consumer tech communications.
- Strong understanding of overseas social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, RedNote) and social media buying.
- Proven ability to work with cross-cultural teams; fluency in Chinese (written and spoken) is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with working in China or for Chinese brands is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
