Get to Know the Role
We are looking for a Metrology Engineer to join our Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and optimizing new recipes for pilot-line production of innovative products. Your primary duties include developing, designing, and implementing advanced measurement methods and equipment for next-generation mask blanks. This position involves a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and enhancing equipment performance, prioritizing reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will work closely with the R&D team in Japan to ensure smooth integration of new technologies and provide support for recipe setup and measurement metrology. A strong emphasis on data-driven analysis and continuous improvement is essential for success in this role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement measurement methods and recipes for defect inspection tools and optical measurement systems.
- Test and validate measurement systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Analyze measurement data and provide actionable recommendations for process and product improvements.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to ensure products comply with established quality standards.
- Support pilot production of new mask blank designs by ensuring measurement equipment is prepared and reliable throughout development cycles.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and offer insights on measurement uncertainties.
- Establish and maintain measurement procedures and calibration records in accordance with ISO and quality standards.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements and emerging trends in measurement metrology.
Skills and Competencies Profile
- Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience as a metrology engineer, preferably in semiconductor, thin-film, or advanced manufacturing settings.
- Proficient in developing new metrology technologies and measurement techniques to align measurement capabilities with technical device roadmaps.
- Skilled in optimizing and maintaining the calibration of metrology systems.
- Hands-on experience with defect inspection tools (e.g., actinic inspection) or measurement equipment such as ellipsometers, N&K analyzers, and X-ray reflectometry.
- Familiarity with quality-certified environments (e.g., ISO9001, 5S, 8D, Lean Six Sigma methodologies).
