- Responding to technical support calls/emails from vessel for computer, network, application, and connectivity issues
- Setting up and installing new computers, network infrastructure (up to L2) and software on board vessels or at shore
- Maintain network infrastructure drawing for each vessel
- Work with support team and assist to resolve cases remotely where required
- Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
- Maintaining inventories of hardware and software for each vessel
- Be actively involved in project preparation or solutions as assigned by IT Manager
- Exposure to other segments of IT i.e OT equipment, CCTV, WiFi infrastructure, satellite communications
- Attend vessel as per attendance plan scheduled by vessel coordinator or IT Manager
- Assist warehouse coordinator where required with regards to pickup, delivery, and packing
- Provide IT briefing to vessel and office members as required
- Any other IT tasks assigned by IT Manager
- Diploma or degree holder in Information Technology, Information Systems or related fields
- At least 1 year of experience in a technical support role
- Prior experience in the shipping/maritime industry will be highly regarded. Or fresher with computer science or IT education background willing to attend vessel regularly
- Ability to travel to different locations island-wide and rarely overseas to support vessels/takeover vessel/new delivery vessel (no sailing required)
- Candidate must be at least able to handle physical work to board vessels (few days per month)
- Proficient in L1 networking, windows OS and MS office, WiFi networking, network infrastructure, firewall, VLANs, routing
- Irregular hours at times, including weekends/public holidays, dependent on vessel's schedule and arrival.
- *Comp-off for working on weekend or public holiday
- Able to work on own and be responsible to prepare proper documentation for work completion
