Position: Financial Controller (Shipowner, Brokerage, Shipping, Trading)
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Group Controller, the Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of a growing international logistics and shipping group. The role includes managing accounting and finance functions across various regions, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting operational teams with financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with accounting and filing requirements in multiple locations.
- Provide support to senior management, including building daily operational and financial reports, cash projections, and liaising with risk management functions.
- Support group finance teams with cash projections, financial, and operational reports.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and ad hoc requests.
- Collaborate with local and international stakeholders, including tax consultants and auditors.
- Manage and grow the finance team in alignment with business expansion.
- Develop and maintain accounting systems and ensure integration with operational software.
Team Structure:
- Finance managers and assistants in multiple locations with the potential to expand the team as the business grows.
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting, business, economics, or finance.
- Min 5-6 years of experience dealing with freight or commodities in a bank/trading house is a must.
- Experience with IFRS and financial hedging instruments is required.
- Solid proficiency in accounting software and IT systems.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in budgeting and forecasting.
