Position Overview:

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Assistant Vice President / Vice President to join our Institutional Coverage team, reporting to the Head of Institutional Coverage.

The Institutional Coverage team sits within Markets & Investor Services and is responsible for managing relationships with banks and institutional investors globally, sourcing of loan assets from financial institutions, syndication of transactions originated by Clifford Capital, and secondary sell-downs.

The ideal candidate would have 7-10 years of experience in syndications or credit sales, existing relationships with banks, multilateral development banks, development finance institutions and institutional investors, good understanding of credit products (especially infrastructure related sectors), good negotiation skills and attention to details.

Working together with senior members of the Institutional Coverage team, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Evaluation of project and financing opportunities that are sourced from bank partners to determine suitability for acquisition.
  • Work in partnership with the Client Coverage Group for all loan acquisition and syndication activities.
  • Preparation of presentations, pipeline files, briefing notes, board papers and other marketing materials.
  • Supporting in the development and management of banks and institutional investor relationships, including ideas generation and delivery.
  • React to client enquiries in a timely and risk-sensitive manner, ensuring proposed solutions are appropriate for the investor.
  • Conduct business in line with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all the relevant risks (including but not limited to market, credit, operational and reputational risks) in adherence to the internal risk policies.

Knowledge/ Experience Required:

  • High energy individual, self-starter and effective team player.
  • At least 7 - 10 years working experience within a syndication or credit sales team at a reputable financial institution.
  • Strong credit and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organised, motivated and strong prioritisation capabilities with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of structured finance terms and documentation (senior, mezzanine and securitisations).
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior team members and external clients.
